CANINE CRUSADERS OF ATLANTA
Dog Of The Month - WOOF!!!
Woof needs help! Woof is an 8-9 year old, blind, male Australian Cattle Dog whose owner went to prison in October of 2007, leaving him behind. He’s located in Atlanta, GA. Poor Woof is sad and confused. His doggie companion has been adopted, leaving him alone and wondering where his family went. He’s been living in a boarding kennel ever since and needs a place of his own. Woof has been posted on several websites with no luck at finding a permanent home. Although he’s blind, he gets around great and learns his boundaries very quickly. He's really an easy guy to take care of. Woof has a condition called megaesophagus, which makes it difficult for food to pass to his stomach. He eats canned food, watered down which helps the food to pass to his stomach. He's done great since his diagnosis and hasn't had a single problem since changing the way he's fed. He's not currently on any medications for his condition. Can you open your heart and home to Woof? This poor boy has been picked on by other dogs for years so his ideal home would be with dogs who will leave him alone or to be the only dog. If you know anyone who will adopt this sweet boy and let him live out his life in a stable and loving home, we would appreciate it! If you can't adopt Woof and would like to help by donating towards his boarding bills, you can donate through Paypal here on out site or mail a check. FOXY NEEDS YOUR HELP!!
Foxy is a senior female Pomeranian mix, recently found as a stray. This poor girl has a lot of medical issues and needs extensive lab work, x-rays, a serious dental cleaning, heartworm treatment and removal of mammary tumors. She was definitely neglected by whoever owned her and who abandoned her. Thankfully she's in good hands in a foster home but we are desperate for donations to get her the medical treatment she needs. Please donate, even small donations help!
Foxy is not currently up for adoption and needs these tests and procedures completed until she will be ready for a new home. You can donate through Paypal above or mail a check. Contact us at caninecrusadersatlanta@yahoo.com for mailing address.
Who We Are
Canine Crusaders of Atlanta is a non-profit, no-kill organization. We're dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned, abused and neglected dogs across the metro Atlanta area. Our focus is to find responsible, loving and permanent homes for every dog that enters our program. We believe we have a lifelong obligation to every animal that comes to us, which is why we try to make the best possible placement, matching each dog to the right person.
Adopting a pet
We adopt in the metro Atlanta, Ga area only. We do not allow out of state adoptions. We're willing to drive within 2 hours of Atlanta but due to the fact that we do a home visit and are volunteer based, that's the maximum distance we can drive for an adoption.
We also require a fenced yard in all homes with children.
If you see a pet you would like to adopt, please email caninecrusadersatlanta@yahoo.com for an application. Once we have your application and it's approved as a match for a particular dog, we will set up a time for you to meet the dog. Our adoption fee includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, de-worming and microchip. All dogs are current on flea and heartworm prevention. If you have any questions, they can be answered by e-mailing us at caninecrusadersatlanta@yahoo.com.
Sponsoring a pet
If you're not able to adopt, you can still help! By sponsoring one or more of our pets you can help keep them happy and healthy while we find them permanent homes. You can choose an animal on our Adoptable Pet List and decide how much you'd like to donate and for how long. You'll receive updates on your sponsored pet as well as when they get adopted.
Donations
We're always in need of donations to help offset our boarding bills and vet expenses. Any donation is appreciated, big or small. We always have a dogs in boarding. Thankfully local boarding facilities are generous enough to give us a discount in order to give our dogs a place to live. It's still not a home, but with donations we are able to give them shelter, food, water and exercise. All that's missing is a loving home. We take donations by PayPal and by check. Email us for an address at caninecrusadersatlanta@yahoo.com. We're also in need of medium and large metal collapsable crates for pet adoptions and heartworm and flea control.
Surrendering a Pet
We are full and cannot take in any new pets, BUT we can help you find a home for your pet by posting them on our website, allowing them to come to our pet adoptions and helping screen applications as well as do a home visit prior to adoption. If you want to give up a pet due to behavior problems, please reconsider giving up your pet. Behavior issues can be resolved. All it takes is time and commitment with the help of a dog trainer or behaviorist.
